Noah Kahan’s Great Divide Tour: Pasadena City Guide + Vegan Food Guide

[Post-Show Updates Added 8/24] After attending The Great Divide Tour in Pasadena on August 15, here’s an updated guide sharing what I learned about vegan options at The Rose Bowl, nearby in Pasadena, and on the Noah’s official City Guide for the tour!

I had a great time in Pasadena, and hope to visit these spots (& explore new ones) again soon.

Vegan Options at The Rose Bowl

A vegan burrito bowl is available at the stadium, and can be purchased at tunnels 3 & 20. This was the only labeled vegan item on the Rose Bowl website, but they also have your usual stadium food like pretzels, popcorn, and fries which are often vegan-friendly.

I also found a veggie teriyaki option that I didn’t verify was vegan, but using my best judgement it seemed like it would be. I was feeling overstimulated when I arrived and needed to eat something before the show, so I grabbed a bowl with steamed rice, carrots, and zucchini, as well as an iced tea. I ended up just eating the rice and sauce, but a random stranger said the bowl looked good and asked where I got it, so take that how you will. 😂 I did feel better after I ate though, and keeping it a little more boring was probably a better fit for me in the moment than a burrito bowl.

Vegan Options in Pasadena

Millie’s Cafe | 1399 E Washington Blvd, Pasadena

I was bummed I didn’t make it to Millie’s, but I decided to prioritize Noah’s city guide stops for this particular trip – plus after so much excitement, I was in the mood for something easy to carry-out and eat somewhere quieter (aka: alone, in my car). However! Millie’s also has a location in Silverlake, which is closer to me, and I definitely want to stop by the next chance I get. They are only open for breakfast and lunch (8am-3pm daily), and have an extensive vegan menu featuring waffles, benedicts, scrambles, omelets, and more – plus burgers and sandwiches for lunch.

My Vegan | 633 S Arroyo Pkwy #3, Pasadena
ID-Eclair | 169 W Green St, Pasadena

An all-vegan pâtisserie known for items including croissants, eclairs, cakes and macarons.

Yvonne’s Vegan Kitchen | 11 W. Dayton St, Pasadena

Yvonne’s is a vegan and gluten free bakery that is based in Pasadena, but also has products in retail locations such as Mother’s Market, Lassens, Erewhon, and Besties Vegan Paradise. In addition to custom cakes, they also have cake slices, cupcakes, and other single-serving items – if you’re in the mood for something savory, they offer vegan cheese and crackers.

Veggie Grill | 200 S Lake Ave, Pasadena

I haven’t been to Veggie Grill in ages, since the Torrance location closed. If I hadn’t been on a mission to get to the Rose Bowl early, this would probably be the familiar comfort food I would’ve gone for before the show. Their menu has changed a bit since Next Level took over, but they still have an assortment of burgers, salads, and bowls. And those nachos!

Fan Favorite

Growing Sideways Coffee Co | 3333 E Foothill Blvd, Pasadena

Growing Sideways Coffee Co. is a fan-owned coffee trailer that has been following The Great Divide tour! They usually find a spot near the venue so fans can buy drinks before the show. I reached out ahead of time to find out the vegan options, and all drinks can be made vegan by omitting whipped cream, and swapping in a non-dairy milk (they have oat and almond).

For the Pasadena show, they parked at 3333 E Foothill Blvd in Pasadena, from 10am-2pm. Make sure to check out their Instagram for location info and times, if you want to grab a drink at your tour stop.

Official Detour Guide (from NoahKahan.com)

These locations were featured in the official Detour Guide on Noah’s website, and they offered themed menus, freebies, and more. As far as I know, the freebies throughout the tour are postcards and coasters (shown below). Most of the locations had standard menu items, but I’m still glad the city guide introduced me some new spots to check out, and delicious vegan food to try. I also got to try a specially crafted drink at The 1894 Bar called The Great Divide – keep scrolling to see it.

Amoeba Music | 6200 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90028
Bloomfield Creamery | 1727 E. Washington Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91104

This is a family-owned ice cream shop with vegan flavors including strawberry matcha, birthday cake, chocolate honeycomb, and peanut butter cup, made with an oat milk base. They didn’t have a special menu item for the tour, but I’m still really glad I stopped by because their vegan flavors are wonderful! I got a double scoop of birthday cake and chocolate honeycomb, and a sugar cone (which is vegan – their waffle cone is not).

Copa Vida Coffee Roasters | 70 S Raymond Ave, Pasadena, CA 91105
Neighbors and Friends | 88 E. Union St, Pasadena, CA 91103

This is a non-vegan sandwich shop, but they feature vegan deli meats from Maciel’s Plant-Based Butcher. Most of their menu can be made vegan or gluten-free. I stopped by for a sandwich and iced latte for the road, and I’d recommend ordering ahead online if you’re planning to do carry-out, because it was quite busy! The food and coffee were delicious, and I also ended up grabbing a bag of Picaresca coffee beans to take home. I had really been looking forward to trying the Maciel’s deli items, but I definitely did not eat my veggies the day before and was craving something a little more planty – “the toasted veg” sandwich was perfect.

Vroman’s Bookstore | 695 E. Colorado Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91101

Vroman’s was out of their freebie postcards and coasters by the time I got there, but I did check out their book display – and left with a new book, and some mini buggy notebooks from Rifle Paper Co. The Smithsonian bug book was really tempting, too! I’m still not totally sure how Sisters in Yellow fits the “for fans of Noah Kahan” category, but this fan of Noah Kahan is enjoying it.

The 1894 | 695 E. Colorado Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91101

Although Vroman’s bookstore was out of the free coasters, their attached bar still had them available with purchase of a drink. I got The Great Divide: a non-alcoholic ginger & butterfly pea tea, layered with limeade, garnished with candied ginger & a spring of rosemary.
