Food and Wine Festival is about to wrap up at Disney California Adventure, and I finally had a chance to stop by and try all of the vegan items! All two of them. Even though Disney hasn’t given us as many vegan festival items lately, there are a lot more choices for us throughout the parks – stay tuned for a more extensive review post, coming soon!
Festival Dates: March 1 – April 22, 2024
Location: LA Style Booth
Item: Baja-Style Fish Tacos (Plant-Based) – $7.25
Cabbage slaw, cilantro-lime crema and pico de gallo.

LA Style is located away from the main drag of festival booths – you’ll find it in Hollywood Land, next to Monsters, Inc.
This was a tasty snack-size taco, with a crispy fish fillet served in a flour tortilla. I enjoyed the avocado crema and fresh pico, but the addition of a lime wedge and some pickled onion or radish would have helped this taco out. It was good, but I probably wouldn’t seek it out again due to the small size and the price. I wouldn’t mind seeing it again as part of a two taco plate, or paired with a side to make it a meal.

Location: Paradise Garden Grill
Item: Loaded Baked Potato (Plant-Based) – $13.99
Seasoned steak tips and BBQ baked beans topped with cheese sauce, tangy slaw, and green onions.

This was the obvious star of the festival for me. Loaded with toppings, this large baked potato was a pretty filling meal. Although it wasn’t mentioned in the menu description, mine had shredded vegan cheese inside (in addition to the cheese sauce) which stepped it up a notch. I would definitely consider ordering this again, or making something similar at home.
If you made it to Food & Wine Festival this year, what did you think of the vegan offerings? Do you have any favorites from past festivals that you’d like to see return? I’m looking forward to scoping out the food at Pixar Fest next week!
